New Delhi. Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma met Union Minister for External Affairs, Dr S Jaishankar at his South Block Office here on Tuesday.
In the course of the meeting that lasted for 30 minutes, Chief Minister Dr Sarma requested Union Minister Jaishankar to chair a session on the crucial role of Assam in India’s Act East Policy during the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit.
The Union Minister for External Affairs accepted the invitation to grace the session.
The Chief Minister while exchanging pleasantries briefed the External Affairs Minister about his recent visits to Bhutan, South Korea and Japan and shared his experiences of the tremendous appreciation for India’s growth trajectory in these countries.
Later, taking to X, the Chief Minister wrote, “I had the pleasure to call upon our erudite Honāble Union Minister Shri @Dr SJaishankar Ji.
During our conversation, I had the opportunity to brief him on my recent visits to Bhutan, South Korea and Japan and the tremendous appreciation for the India growth story, which I witnessed first hand in these countries.
At Advantage Assam 2 we will have the privilege of Minister elucidating the critical role of Assam in Indiaās Act East Policy.”
The Chief Minister called on the Governor of Chhattisgarh Ramen Deka at the Chattisgarh Bhawan in the national capital. Officials termed it as a courtesy call.
Earlier, Chief Minister Dr Sarma met some prospective investors in connection with the forthcoming Assam Advantage 2.0 Summit at the Assam House here.
The Chief Minister urged the investors to come and invest in Assam in the course of his one-to-one meetings that lasted for close to an hour.
