BJP supported candidates have won majority of wards in Urban Local Bodies: Jai Ram Thakur

Shimla. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has thanked the people of Nagar Councils and Nagar Panchayats of the State for their massive turnout in the elections of these urban local bodies which concluded yesterday peacefully.

Jai Ram Thakur said that it showed the faith of people in the democracy at grass root level. He said that the BJP supported candidates have won majority of wards in these Urban Local Bodies.

He said that BJP supported candidates had won 22 Nagar Parishads out of 29 and 18 Nagar Panchayats out of 21 which vindicate the faith of the people in the policies and programmes of the present State Government, who initiated numerous welfare schemes and development oriented projects in the State.

Chief Minister urged the newly elected representatives to work with dedication and commitment to ensure speedy development of their respective areas to come upto the aspirations and expectations of the people.

He also urged the people to show similar enthusiasm in the PRIs elections in the coming days.
