New Delhi. Reflecting the Prime Minister’s vision of Green Viksit Bharat, two landmark initiatives were launched to advance sustainable living and eco-friendly public transportation.
On World Environment Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the flag-off of 200 electric DEVi buses by PMI Electro in Delhi, marking a significant milestone in India’s journey towards zero-emission mobility and reinforcing his commitment to environmental stewardship, the Prime Minister also planted a Banyan sapling at Bhagwan Mahavir Vanasthali Park under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, highlighting the importance of biodiversity, climate resilience and ecological harmony.
His dual actions planting a tree and launching electric buses, serve as a clear call to action for a Green Viksit Bharat.
In honour of the Prime Minister’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, PMI embraced his vision for a greener future by distributing 10,000 eco-friendly seed cards containing Basil and Wildflower seeds as part of its ‘Green Routes’ initiative.
These seed cards are designed to be planted directly into soil, are expected to germinate within two weeks. Citizens were encouraged to share selfies while planting the seeds and tag PMI’s LinkedIn page to inspire wider participation.
This effort encourages citizens to plant and nurture greenery in their homes and communities, echoing the Prime Minister’s call for environmental stewardship and advancing the shared vision of a cleaner, greener Bharat.
Dr. Aanchal Jain, CEO of PMI Electro Mobility, speaking at the flag-off and launch of the Prime Minister’s visionary initiative ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, said:
“At PMI Electro Mobility, we are proud and deeply humbled to contribute to India’s green transformation.
It is a moment of immense honour for us to have our electric buses launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on World Environment Day.
PMI’s journey reflects the spirit of the Prime Minister’s visionary mission for a Green Viksit Bharat. His transformative policies and farsighted initiatives have not only shaped the national agenda but also serve as a guiding force behind our work.
In many ways, PMI has grown on the foundation of this vision—and continues to move forward inspired by his thoughts on sustainability and innovation.
As a small yet heartfelt gesture to honour the inspiring initiative ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, we distributed 10,000 eco-friendly seed cards, encouraging citizens to plant and nurture greenery as a tribute to Mother Earth.”
Our electric buses are already making a difference across the country, actively reducing emissions and driving us toward a cleaner, more intelligent future.
On this Environment Day, let us renew our shared commitment to protecting the planet laying the groundwork for a future that the next generation will cherish with pride.”
